  • Palmless for full sensitivity, dexterity, and tactility
  • Simple, comfortable, light design
  • Easy on, easy off

Using trekking poles in the backcountry, intense sun has burned the back of our hands more than once. Although we apply sunscreen in the morning, we often forget to reapply throughout the day as sweat carries the UV protection away. To prevent rapidly aging sun damaged skin and skin cancer later in life, it’s important to cover up now and not wait until you're over 40 and begin noticing the damage. We often forget about our hands as one of the most exposed areas of our body.

PalmFree™ Sun Gloves provide UPF50+ protection blocking 98% of the damaging UV rays. They are not only fingerless, but palmless so you have the full sensitivity, dexterity, and tactility of your hands and allow them to release heat and sweat naturally.

The design is simple and comfortable; just line up your thumb with the larger finger hole, slide the glove over your wrist, loop it over your thumb and pinkie, and you’re good to go. No ill-fitting fabric between your palm and your trekking pole grip, no cumbersome cord loops around your fingers, and no goofy-looking design. Easy on and easy off with no Velcro to stick to your clothes.

To find your size, just follow our sizing guide.

    Great protection

Fits comfortably and works as expected. I use it on the golf course and love protecting my right hand from all that sun.

    Best Running sungloves ever

Posted by Barry Baumgartner on 4th Jul 2022

I've bought five pairs in the last 2-3 years. I gave a pair to my wife and daughter for outdoor walking, running and open water swimming. We all love them. Only complaint is they get grey pretty quickly after using 6 mo. or so... even though I wash them with my running clothes every time they're used.

great gloves that are lightweight and comfortable

I love these gloves! I was wondering how I'd like the open palm style, in terms of comfort. They are perfect. I like the fact that I can feel the trekking poles in my palm, and the fit is so comfortable. Very light-weight, for prepping for my thru hike...and in the hotter sections, these will be perfect. Great product!

Best sun gloves I've ever worn.

Posted by barry baumgartner on 31st Jul 2019

I wear this product for running (~20 mi/week) 3 days a week 7 mi./run which is about 1:45. The back of my hands have gotten many AK, basil and squamous cells over my 41+ years of running (I'm 72). Hi quality sunblock wasn't doing the job, so I thought I'd give the gloves a try. Wow... what a difference. I hope durability isn't an issue My wife borrowed my gloves the other day and now she wants a pair. Great product. Thanks.

    Comfortable sun protection

Posted by Diane Pinkers on 27th Jun 2016

I purchased these because I ALWAYS get a burn on the top of my hand from hiking with trekking poles. Even if I apply sunscreen in the morning, I forget to apply as often as I should. These gloves worked well with the trekking poles, were very lightweight and on an 8 mile hike over hilly terrain, never did I feel that I was getting rubbed. I like that they are offered in other colors besides white--my sunsleeves that I have are white, and they are dingy looking after 2 years of use in the summer. My only other concern is how they will hold up over time, as they are lightweight, but other than laundry, they don't get abraded while in use.
