- Strong, lightweight aluminum alloy
- Simple V shape
- Thickened center for strength/rigidity
- Exceptional holding power
- Dirt scrapes off easily
DAC J-Stakes are strong, lightweight aluminum alloy stakes that hold their ground. Standard equipment with the best small lightweight tents, they feature a classic, simple V-shape but are thicker in the center for increased strength and rigidity. With the V pointing toward the tent/tarp, the guyline is securely held in a notch. A bright-colored cord loop aids in pulling the stake out plus helps you see it in the moonlight and find it when packing up.
DAC is world-renowned for aluminum pole technology. If you have a tent with aluminum poles, they were likely made by DAC. They used their vast knowledge of materials to develop a proprietary aluminum alloy for the J-Stakes that’s super durable.
Two sizes are available. Small is 6.3 in. (16 cm) long and weighs 0.395 oz (11.2 g). Medium is 7.9 in. (20 cm) long and weighs 0.57 oz (16.2 g).
These stakes have exceptional holding power in standard soil. But also do well in hard, compact soil. For softer ground, the medium size holds better. Press them in with your foot in standard soil, while careful hammering with a rock may be necessary for compact soil. The V-shape means dirt cleans off easily by scraping one stake inside the V-groove of another. An added benefit – they nest nicely with each other for more compact storage.
