Hypothermia from cold, wet, and windy weather affects coordination and decision making and can ultimately be fatal. If you’re forced to spend an unexpected night in the wild, the Heatsheets® Emergency Bivy will protect you from the elements and keep you warm. As soon as the temperature drops, hop in the bivy and instantly improve the odds in your favor. It’s designed to perform when you’re counting on it with your life.
The bivy is made of vacuum-metalized polyethylene that reflects 90% of your radiated body heat back to you to keep you warm. The material is fully waterproof and windproof and the seams are taped so no rain, wind, or snow can get inside. It’s non-breathable so condensation may develop inside the bivy. The high-visibility orange exterior makes it easier for rescuers to find you. Unlike traditional Mylar blankets or bivies, it’s quieter and won’t keep you up crinkling in the wind. It’s stretchy and won’t shred if nicked or punctured. Rips or tears can easily be repaired with tape.
Especially great for day hikes when you’re not carrying a shelter, but also added insurance on longer overnight trips in case things don’t go as planned. Sized to fit one person. There’s an opening on one end, but no zipper. A durable storage bag is provided.
