- Monitor pot temperature, save fuel
- Sticks to pot outside wall
- 7 temperature indicator points
- Points turn red at temperature
This tiny pot thermometer strip allows you to monitor the pot temperature rather than lifting the lid to see if the water is boiling. And when you only need it “hot enough” for a warm beverage, rehydrating meals, or washing up, a pot thermometer guides you to your preferred temperature and when to stop heating the water which saves fuel. The indicators are easy to read, turning red when the temperature is reached.
Apply the self-adhesive thermometer to the outside of your clean pot about a third to half of the way up from the bottom, leaving enough space from the bottom so flames can’t reach the thermometer. The furthest indicator from the left that turns red is the pot temperature.

Super handy!
I was a bit skeptical buying this, but it worked extremely well for its purpose--to keep an eye on the general pot temp without taking off the lid. You could see each successive indicator light flicker and then stay on when each temp was reached and then the full boil would hit shortly after 90C was reached. I can't say (and don't care much about) whether, say, 75C on the thermometer was particularly close to 75C in reality, but it was great for keeping a casual eye on boil progress. Paired with a Soto pot lid, I could make coffee in the morning without ever taking the lid off--hit 90C, turn the gas off, pour the water through the lid, done.
