The UltraFire Knife combines two of the most essential pieces of any emergency survival kit – a good blade and a firestarter. It’s a dual-purpose, ultralight utility knife, excellent for everyday backcountry tasks like opening food packages, cutting cord, or first aid, plus a built-in ferro rod firestarter, ready for when making a fire is essential to survival.
This unique knife uses a standard trapezoidal utility knife blade secured so nearly the entire edge length is useable. The blade is easily replaced should it lose its edge. No need to resharpen, simply remove the screws to swap out the blade.
The blade cover incorporates a ferrocerium rod firesteel to shower sparks burning at 5500 °F (3000 °C) and quickly ignite tinder. The back of the blade is the perfect striker. And after lots of use, the rod can even be replaced by just removing the screws.
The light-weighted handle is made of durable nylon with a textured non-slip surface for a sure grip. Snap on the blade cover for safe storage in your pack or pocket. It has a lanyard hole on the end of the handle, but no pocket clip. And there’s even a slot on the blade cover for a carabiner.
