Tottles are for dispensing lotion or gel. They have a flatter profile to fit better in your pocket or pack and a carabiner slot for hanging from your pack or belt loop. Use a tottle to repackage larger containers so you take only what you need on your trip. No sense taking a large bottle of something and only using a little bit.
Tottles are perfect for quick access to sunscreen, insect repellent, hand sanitizer, or soap. The 0.5 and 1 oz (15 and 30 ml) size is ideal for a day hike or weekend trip but is limited to snap top or screw on caps only. They're translucent (natural) so you can see what's inside and how much is left. The white 1.7 oz (50 ml) is a great size for a short trip and accommodates all cap styles. The high-density polyethylene (HDPE) material is a little stiffer than LDPE, but still squeezable (sunscreen bottles are made of this material). Be sure to mark the contents on the tottle using a permanent marker, tape, or label.
To restrict the flow of liquid or lotion from a bottle, add an Orifice Reducer.

Flip Spout
- Best for streaming liquids or squirting lotion
- Commonly used for dispensing stove alcohol
- Flip spout up and squeeze bottle to dispense, flip back down to seal
- Land seal
Press Disc
- Larger orifice best for thicker liquids or lotion
- Commonly found on shampoo bottles
- Press disc down and squeeze bottle to dispense, press back down top of disc to seal
- Land seal
Snap Top
- Larger orifice best for thicker liquids or lotion
- Commonly found on sunscreen bottles
- Flip cap up and squeeze bottle to dispense, flip back down and snap shut to seal
- Land seal
Screw On
- Securely seals liquids and lotions
- Unscrew the cap to pour, screw back on to seal
- Cap detaches from bottle, be careful not to lose it
- F-217 liner, very effective for sealing liquids
